"ALPHA WHISPERERS: Power Behind The Power" Pre-Book Launch - TOKYO Edition

On March 23, 2026, at the Foreign Correspondents’ Club of Japan, in a room filled with global minds, seasoned diplomats, innovators, cross-sector leaders, family and friends, I had the profound honor of pre-launching my forthcoming book, ALPHA WHISPERERS: Power Behind The Power -- a project born not from theory, but from lived proximity to influence and power… from years spent observing how decisions are truly shaped long before they are announced.
 

What moved me most were the extraordinary expressions of affirmation and incredible support for ALPHAWHISPERERS™ and the book during the event, starting from my dear friend, partner and co-host, Patricia Bader-Johnston, COO of Big Heart Technologies (Kokoro for Women's Wisdom) who has lived and created lasting positive cross-sector influence in Japan for forty years and graciously welcomed everyone;

Ambassador Akiko Yamanaka, Former Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan, Ambassador for Peacebuilding of the Japanese Government among other notable titles as a Prof. Dr. who delivered her thoughtful, wisdom-filled Opening Remarks;

Ambassador Mylene De Joya Garcia-Albano, currently the first female Ambassador of the Philippines to Japan, whose Keynote Speech acknowledging the importance of the work behind ALPHAWHISPERERS™ and its contribution to the Philippine Diaspora from a fellow Filipina reinforced within me the reason for my life work;

As I read excerpts from the book, I felt something beyond intellectual conversations. It was the recognition in the room. A nod. A pause. A quiet "yes"..
Later that evening, at the iconic Tokyo American Club, we continued and moved beyond polite conversations into a shared reckoning: accountability for what is being whispered in these uncertain times.
 

We spoke about responsibility. Not theoretical. Not institutional. Personal responsibility.

Because here is what we can no longer pretend not to see: The world is not unraveling randomly.

It is being shaped -- decision by decision, silence by silence, room by room.
Behind every escalation… there were rooms. And in those rooms… there were voices.
And in too many of those moments… the right voices did not speak loudly enough -- or at all.

This is why ALPHAWHISPERERS™ exists. Not to celebrate proximity to power, but to confront it.
To name the invisible layer of leadership that shapes outcomes before they become headlines.
To challenge those who advise, guide, and influence leaders:
You are not observers. You are participants.

There are moments in a journey when you realize something you have been building quietly, persistently, often behind the scenes… has begun to speak for itself.

 

Tokyo was that moment.   To my Japanese friends -- see you again in September -- when we officially launch the Book.
